Andy Noonan

Andrew Noonan is an education specialist with over 20 years of experience in TESOL methodology, teacher training, and online course facilitation. As an eLearning Teacher Trainer and IEP Instructor at the University of Oregon, he  taught academic English and facilitated online TESOL courses for teachers all over the world.  As a Trainer of Trainers at World Learning, Mr. Noonan facilitated training and reflection sessions utilizing a variety of methods, including in-person observation and online engagement via Moodle, for trainees in U.S. Department of State funded programs. Mr. Noonan is a Licensed TESOL Certificate Course Teacher Trainer and holds a DELTA as well as a Master’s degree in TESOL from SIT Graduate Institute. Big C, Little c and the Case for Teaching Culture Language and culture are inseparable. Advances in technology have spurred on globalization to the extent that ownership of a language and the reasons for learning a foreign language are experiencing an evolution like never before. What does this mean for the busy practicing teacher? This talk will explore the benefits of having a principled and consistent approach to infusing language lessons with cultural content to better prepare our students for a transcultural and translingual future.
