Dave was born and raised in Canada, the youngest half of two sets of twins. He graduated with an Electrical Engineering degree from McGill University before attaining a Master's degree in Education as well as a PhD in Education from the same institution. Dave has been a math and science teacher in both Canada and the United States for nearly 30 years and also currently teaches prospective elementary and middle school teachers at San Diego State University. He has been leading International Baccalaureate workshops since 2003 and has recently co-authored several resources for Oxford University Press (MYP Mathematics 1-3 textbook series). Dave has spoken to audiences all over the Americas, with a primary focus on teaching through inquiry and teaching for equity. He believes that all children can learn, and that there are practices that can make an equitable education for all attainable.
