Efren Miranda is a U.S Department of State alumni who received a Fulbright scholarship and participated in the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) in 2017. He holds a B.A. in Teaching English as a Foreign Language and a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from New Mexico State University (NMSU) in the U.S. Efren has taught English for communicative and academic curricula in a variety of institutions. He also managed the English Access Microscholarship Program in Nicaragua, increasing accessibility to English education for academically gifted youth in underserved communities. He was a board member of the Nicaraguan Association of English Teachers, promoting the professional development of English teachers. Efren has presented in academic and teaching conferences in Nicaragua, and international conferences such as the TESOL convention 2017 in Seattle, the 28th (U.S) National Conference on Students in Transition with the National Resource Center and the University of South Carolina in 2021, and in The Connected Faculty Summit 2022 from Arizona State University in 2022. He is currently serving as a consultant and teacher trainer in public schools in Nicaragua through the Macmillan Education group and he has also worked as an Instructional designer for New Mexico State University.
