M.Ed. Kacie Tartt is a Senior Instructor in UCF’s Department of Modern Languages and Literatures, specializing in Spanish and Latin American Studies. She teaches Spanish courses and the LAS 3026 “Cuba: A Collective Portrait” course each spring and co-led the Journey Cuba study abroad program from 2017 to 2020, with her digital media and educational resources archived in UCF’s STARS Repository. A strong advocate for educational accessibility, Kacie’s courses align with UCF’s Affordable Instructional Materials Initiative, earning her the AIM High Group Award in 2022. She collaborates with the Center for Distributed Learning to enhance distance education through Adaptive Learning and Open Educational Resources (OER), with a focus on supporting historically marginalized students. Most recently, she co-secured a Florida Humanities Community Project Grant for the upcoming event “The Dawn of Latinx Creative Writing in Florida,” in October of 2024. Deeply dedicated to student success, Kacie strives to help learners achieve meaningful, fulfilling goals.
