Click, Connect, Change: The Power of Virtual Service-Learning
In an increasingly digital world, service-learning has evolved beyond traditional in-person experiences, opening doors to global engagement, cross-cultural collaboration, and impactful learning—all without geographic barriers. This session explores the transformative potential of virtual service-learning projects, where students leverage technology to contribute meaningfully to communities, develop critical thinking and empathy, and enhance their academic and professional skills.
Through real-world examples and best practices, educators will gain insights into designing effective virtual service-learning initiatives that foster engagement and social responsibility.
From partnering with international organizations to launching community-driven digital campaigns, participants will discover innovative strategies to make service-learning accessible and rewarding in any educational setting. By integrating service into virtual platforms, educators empower students to take action on pressing social issues, connect with diverse perspectives, and develop a deeper understanding of global citizenship while strengthening digital literacy. This talk highlights the ways virtual service-learning can bridge the gap between education and social impact, demonstrating how small, meaningful actions in the digital space can drive change in the real world.
