In modern English Language Teaching (ELT), feedback is most impactful when it transcends numerical grades and offers transparent paths to improvement. However, language instructors often face a persistent operational challenge: traditional assessment models reduce nuanced student performance down to a single, cumulative score, such as an "11/15" on a speaking assessment. This practice unintentionally masks specific linguistic strengths and weaknesses, leaving learners without a clear roadmap for self-directed growth and increasing instructor administrative workloads.

Drawing from quality assurance (QA) models used in operational development fields, this session demonstrates how institutions can revitalize their existing assessment criteria without overcomplicating technology.
Specifically, the presenter will showcase a tangible case study illustrating how an institution’s native Speaking Rubric can be integrated directly into Moodle’s underutilized Advanced Grading feature. By transitioning from manual math to a "click-and-go" interactive grid, non-tech-savvy teachers can significantly accelerate grading times. Simultaneously, the moment an instructor selects descriptor blocks for criteria like Fluency, Vocabulary/Grammar, or Pronunciation, Moodle automatically populates a localized, visual "Learning Dashboard" for the student.
Attendees will observe real-life examples of how breaking down a final score into discrete, visible competencies cultivates profound student self-awareness and accountability.
